Clock-in that has to happen on site
Ghost punches — clock-ins from the car park, from home, or from anywhere other than the actual workplace — are a common attendance fraud problem. Dawmly's geofencing feature lets you define a GPS radius around each branch and, if you choose to enforce it, rejects any clock-in or clock-out that falls outside that radius. Geofencing is included from the Growth plan at 175 EGP per employee per month. Payments processed in EGP via Paymob.
A radius around every branch
Each branch in Dawmly can have its own geofence: a name, a latitude and longitude marking the centre, and a radius in metres. You set the radius to match the physical size of the site — 50 metres for a small office, 200 metres for a warehouse floor. The geofence is per branch, so different locations can have different radii and different enforcement settings.
Enforce it, or just record it
The enforcement toggle is a per-branch business decision. When enforcement is off, Dawmly still captures the GPS coordinates of every punch and stores them on the attendance record — you have a full location audit trail without blocking anyone. When you switch enforcement on, any punch where the employee is further from the branch centre than the radius is rejected at the moment they tap clock-in or clock-out. The choice is yours per branch, and you can change it at any time.
Both ends of the shift
Geofencing applies to both clock-in and clock-out. This closes the common loophole where an employee clocks in legitimately on site, leaves early, then clocks out from home. When enforcement is on, the clock-out punch is checked against the geofence exactly the same way as the clock-in punch. Both the clock-in and clock-out GPS coordinates are stored on every attendance session, regardless of enforcement status.
Real distance, not a rectangle
Dawmly calculates distance using the haversine formula against an earth radius of 6,371 km — this gives a true great-circle distance, the same measure used in aviation and GPS navigation. It is not a bounding box, which would give different real-world distances in different compass directions. A radius of 100 metres means 100 metres in every direction from the branch centre, with no distortion.
Included from Growth
Geofencing is included from the Growth plan at 175 EGP per employee per month (cap of 200 employees). It is not available on the Free or Starter plans. See full plan details and branch management for how branches are set up.

Frequently asked questions
Which plan includes geofencing?
Geofencing is included from the Growth plan, at 175 EGP per employee per month.
What happens if someone tries to clock in from home?
If enforcement is switched on for that branch, the punch is rejected because the distance from the branch centre exceeds the radius you set. Clock-out is checked the same way, so nobody can leave the site and close their shift from elsewhere.
Can I use geofencing without blocking anyone?
Yes. Enforcement is a per-branch switch. Leave it off and Dawmly still records the GPS coordinates of every punch, so you keep the audit trail without rejecting anyone.
