Leave that balances itself
Manually tracking who has how many days left, across annual leave, sick leave, and whatever other types your company uses, is error-prone and time-consuming. Dawmly tracks per-employee balances automatically, ring-fences pending days the moment a request is submitted, and lets employees request leave from their phone. Leave management is included from the Starter plan at 100 EGP per employee per month. Payments processed in EGP via Paymob.
Define the leave types your company actually uses
You create the leave types that fit your organisation — annual leave, sick leave, unpaid leave, study leave, or anything else. For each type you set a default annual day allowance, mark it as paid or unpaid, and decide whether unused days carry over to the next year. If carry-over is allowed, you set a maximum number of carry-over days so entitlements stay predictable. These rules are per-type, so different leave categories can have entirely different policies.
Balances that ring-fence pending requests
Each employee has a balance per leave type per year. The balance tracks three numbers: total days (allowance plus any carry-over), used days (from approved leave), and pending days (from requests not yet reviewed). Available days are derived automatically as total minus used minus pending. This means the moment an employee submits a request, the days are ring-fenced against their balance — they cannot submit a second overlapping request that would push them into negative territory, even if the first one has not been approved yet.
Request from the phone, approve from anywhere
Employees request leave directly from the Dawmly mobile app on iOS and Android — they pick a date range, add an optional note, and submit. The request goes to a reviewer, who records a review note and a review timestamp when they act on it. There is a complete audit trail of who reviewed what and when, so disputes about leave approval are easy to resolve.
Half-days without a workaround
Dawmly stores the number of requested days as a decimal, so a half-day request deducts 0.5 from the balance rather than a full day. There is no need to create a separate leave type or use a workaround — partial-day requests work the same way as full-day ones throughout the approval flow and balance calculation.
Leave that reaches payroll
Approved leave and absence flow into the Dawmly payroll calculation automatically. Paid leave is credited, unpaid leave generates an absence deduction — without any manual data transfer between systems. The leave record and the payroll record stay in sync.

Frequently asked questions
Which plan includes leave management?
Leave management is included from the Starter plan, at 100 EGP per employee per month.
Can employees request half a day off?
Yes. Dawmly stores the requested days as a decimal, so half-days and other partial-day requests are supported.
What stops someone spending leave they have already requested?
Every balance tracks total, used and pending days separately. Available days are calculated as total minus used minus pending, so the moment a request is raised those days are ring-fenced — even before anyone approves it.
